Research and Development

After over 6 years of study, the experts from the R&D department of HRPC has already mastered the technique of natural dyeing. So far, the Center has been successful with over 90 natural colours for textile and over 30 colours for natural fibers like bamboo, sea-grass...This success opens a new chapter for the development of environmental-friendly products in the handicraft sector in Vietnam. Also, it will support for the development of value-added and high-end textile and natural fibers products of the people in the moutainous and rural areas.

Preservation and development of handmade paper

Handmade paper has almost disappeared in Vietnam for long time, there’s only few families left in Duong O village, Bac Ninh province fighting against daily difficulties to maintain the production, however, because of poor designs, this craft village is also rather hard to develop.Under this situation, the researchers of HRPC has carefully studied traditional production techniques, at the same time, studied paper production technologies from other countries, especially washi (handmade paper) in Japan and invited Japanese expert to develop handmade paper in Vietnam. Development charcoal utilizing bamboo waste in craft villages

Bamboo charcoal is made of bamboo culms and waste material from bamboo processing. On one hand, bamboo charcoal not only provides a new way to utilize bamboo, but also benefits to environment protection by reducing the residues pollution. On the other hand, bamboo charcoal is a kind of environmentally functional material which has excellent absorption and friendly properties to environment.
